Amazing Spiderman or men

Thursday, June 19th, 2014

I was looking through some old files on one of my computers and came across several folders of old photos.

We have literally 1000’s of photos we snapped here and there, all over the world even, and most of them are just sitting around on a hard drive… somewhere.

Anyway, it was fun looking through them and this one made me really smile to remember when my sons were so Spiderman crazy and loved to come home from daycare and dress up in different costumes (yes, of course, there were others).

Spiderman was always one of their favorites. This photo was taken about 9 years ago, in August of 2005.

Golf with the guys

Thursday, May 22nd, 2014

Last weekend was another golf outing for my oldest son’s golf school, so that means me and my younger son got to go along and play 18 holes while the coach was working with the others.

This is in Enakyo Park in Gifu. We have been there a few times now and this is the second time it was only me and Ahn playing. We had a great time though it is also a lot of fun when we can all go together as a family.

Here are a few pictures of the course:

Golden week was short but good

Tuesday, May 13th, 2014

This was the shortest Golden Week I can remember.

I usually don’t really like having classes interrupted so soon in the semester anyway, so I don’t really mind that it was a little shorter than usual.

Still, Golden Week was a lot of fun.

It rained so hard Monday that I was really worried about our plans to barbecue with some friends on Tuesday.

That was quite a rain, and it did make my backyard fairly soggy, but when I woke up on Tuesday morning the sun was shining and the sky was clear.

I have a pretty large canopy covering my deck, so it was in pretty good shape still. By the time people started arriving, the place was in great shape.

I didn’t have to stand over the grill the whole time either, so that was a plus.

I usually don’t do seafood on the grill, but someone brought some really large shrimp. I was told they were delicious ;-) I did eat steak though, hehheh.

All English Graduate School Program

Thursday, April 24th, 2014

I know that some students are interested in continuing their English language studies by joining graduate programs abroad. A growing trend is for universities in Japan, and Korea, is to create programs where all courses are taught in English by native English speakers.

One of my graduate school friends and colleagues recently contacted me about the program his university in Korea is starting. He is the coordinator of the program, and it looks like it should be interesting.

His university is Kyung Hee University in Korea and their program is getting underway now offering graduate degrees in Global Hospitality and Tourism.

For now they have set up a Facebook page where you can get more information and also be notified about updates.

2014 Spring Semester is off and running

Thursday, April 17th, 2014

Hey everybody! Yes, the spring semester is now under way! Yay!! maybe 😉

I had a busy, fun break time, but now that’s over and it’s time to get back to classes.

I am looking forward to a lot of fun with all of the new students I’m meeting this semester and all of the students from my previous classes who are back this year.

I hope we all have a great semester!

Here’s a picture of my youngest son getting ready for his first day at Junior High School. I couldn’t go to the ceremony, so that was a little disappointing, but he survived 😉
