A May Morning at My House

Thursday, May 5th, 2011

So we’re enjoying our break time. The weather has been great and very cooperative. We’ve been able to enjoy ourselves outside quite a bit and it hasn’t been too hot or too cold. Just about right.

We’ve been inside a bunch, too, but these days even in the early morning it’s been pretty nice outside.

Yesterday morning the boys decided to do a little painting (not unusual) and were able to go outside.

Now, they’re not Rembrandt’s, but they enjoy smearing some colors around as much as the next person.

Here are a couple of pictures of them to give you an idea. This is on our deck in our garden.

Tokugawa Art Museum Garden trip

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

Today we had a great time visiting Tokugawa Art Museum and seeing a lot of interesting swords, armor, art, and other things from that time period.

We visited the museum with Sulseob’s seminar students, and walked around in the garden there. The weather was great, the scenery was too.

Here are a few pictures we took:

Happy Birthday to Me!

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

This week was my birthday, and oh, I may have mentioned it a time or two before the break 🙂

For last class with my 2nd Year Seminar students they got together and surprised me with a cake and party.

I have to say I was really touched and moved by this. You guys are a special group and I really, really appreciate your doing this, and being good students.

Here’s a video I put together of some of the photos.

A couple of notes:

1. I know I don’t need a hairband 🙂

2. This is the first birthday cake I’ve had that I did not make for myself in longer than I can remember. My wife’s birthday is the same day as mine, so since it is my responsibility at home to make the cake, I always do it.

Thanks so much every body. It was great. Sorry not everyone could be there, but I appreciate the emails from those who couldn’t attend in person.

See you all next semester!
