2013 Golden Week

Back to work and school and classes and trying to get back to a regular (or what passes for that at our house) schedule.

This was a very strange Golden Week holiday for me for some reason. The off days fell in a strange way, but still we managed to put several days off together and spend some time just the family, and also with our friends and their families.

We BBQ’d a couple of times actually, which is something we often do, but not usually leaving our place to do it. This time around we went to Haewa Koen with some friends and cooked out. I ate till I almost died… Just cooking meat, eating meat, … We were a little lacking on the side dishes this time around, but there was an awful lot of meat.

Who is your favorite band?

I play music, and I enjoy listening to music a lot as well. I like many different kinds of music, too.

I like jazz, classical, rock, pop, K-Pop country, bluegrass… many kinds.

I think I like songs that have a story or at least very interesting ideas to the lyrics and have some good harmonies.

I really like songs with multiple harmonies – especially acapella.

I’m not really sure who my favorite group is, but I really like the Eagles.

Who is your super hero?

So, some people who know me already know that I am a comic book and super hero fan.

I’m sure I’m not alone in that. Everyone at one time or another in their life wishes they had some super power, or powers, or at the very least had the private number for a super hero who would come and help them out.

I don’t think I would look so good in a cape, but I still think it would be cool to be a super hero.

What about you? Wouldn’t you like to be a super hero or have one you could call any time to help you?

2013 Graduation Party

So yesterday was the graduation ceremony for my last class of seminar students. It is always one of those bittersweet days. I’m so very proud of all of them for sticking it out and doing there best. It has been a great 3 years (they start as 2nd year students).

We had a graduation party at the Nagoya Garden Palace last night with all of the students from our department – also the last year for this department as it’s been changed now and combined with several others so there are no more entering freshmen for this department.

Here’s a photo of the group. Almost everyone made it, so that was really nice to get to see everybody one last time.

All students reunion

A short time ago we had an ‘all students’ reunion for the department at Aichi Shukutoku. I didn’t get to stay for the whole thing, but I did get to meet a lot of former students. I didn’t get to take a lot of pics, but here’s one from that day.
