Spring 2011 Semester has started

April 20th, 2011

Okay, it’s time for another semester and we are started now.

I think it will be a good year for our Web English Class. I’m really looking forward to it.

We are going to be doing a few things differently this time for Web English.
First off we will be using a different way to stay in contact.

If you are in one of the classes, please make sure you get signed up.

If you have questions, you can ask me, or email me.

Let’s have a great semester!!

Mystery of the disappearing birthday cake

January 18th, 2011

So it’s that time of year, again. My birthday.

A few students in my Chukyo OC VI class asked if they could visit the library for a moment during class today. Not a usual thing, but they’re good kids, so I said… uh, okay…
They came back with a birthday cake and candles.

It was a very nice thing for them to do. I really appreciated that, but I’ve appreciated this group from the beginning. Today was the last class for them with me, and I’m going to miss them, but it was a great way to end things.

A couple of notes about the cake and situation;
1. I’m not sure why they think that’s my age 😉
2. There were only small, plastic forks, and no plates or napkins, hence the communal eating.
3. That cake never stood a chance, hehheh

4th period class was great, too. They brought me a collection of my favorite foods; some chocolate, with some chocolate, and then a little chocolate, ooooooh yeah

Thanks, guys. I really appreciated it and all of your hard work this semester.

2010 Annual Seminar BBQ

December 29th, 2010

Sorry to post these so late. There were a lot of photos and I just didn’t have the time to get to them.

These are photos from what has sort of become a tradition for my 2nd Year Seminar students: a visit to my house for a BBQ with my family, my wife and my sons Bynn and Ahn.

As you can see by the photos, there was a pretty good time going on there 🙂 :

2010 Year End photos

December 29th, 2010

As usual as the year comes to and end (though we still have classes for this semester after the New Year begins) there are a few photos taken in my classes.

Here are a few taken during the last week of classes in December:

Fall is here! and classes are underway… yeah!!

October 7th, 2010

Hi everybody!
It looks like another good semester is underway and week 2 is already almost finished. Time is flying by 🙂

I hope everyone enjoyed their summer vacation and is now ready to get back to school.

This semester is going to be a fun, and busy one.

Our Web English class feels almost like it’s starting over with about half of each group being new members. I hope we can still continue to move on with checking out some interesting sites for improving English skills, learning about the internet, and communicating with each other, our friends, and finding new friends.

I hope everyone has had a chance to update their Twitter usernames for the class lists and we can use Twitter for staying in touch throughout the week between classes. Keep an eye out for the updated class lists. I should have those posted soon. I’ll let you know and then you’re expected to check the list and follow all of the students from your class.
